The first impression of every link you share

Before anyone reads your page, they see the card: an image, a headline, a domain. A broken or empty preview quietly kills click-through on launch posts, newsletters, and ads — and you rarely notice, because the person scrolling past never tells you.

Each platform reads the same Open Graph tags but crops and truncates differently. This tool shows all of them at once so you set the tags once and ship with confidence. Generate the tags themselves with the Meta Tag Generator, then paste them here to confirm.

The pre-post checklist

  • og:image is an absolute https URL, 1200×630.
  • Title fits in ~60 characters; description in ~155.
  • Re-scrape in the platform debugger to bust the cache.
Want this on autopilot

PostWyse auto-generates the OG image, title, and description for every page and post you publish, then checks the card before it goes out. One less thing to forget.

Frequently asked

What is an Open Graph (OG) preview?

Open Graph is the meta-tag standard (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url) that platforms read to build the rich card shown when you share a link. This tool renders those tags the way X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Slack do, so you catch a missing image or truncated title before you post.

What size should my og:image be?

1200 × 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) is the safe size for the large card on every major platform. Keep it under ~5 MB, use PNG or JPG, and put critical text in the center — edges get cropped differently per platform.

Why does my link show no image when shared?

Usually a missing or non-absolute og:image URL, an image behind auth, or a platform that has cached an old version. Use an absolute https URL, then re-scrape with the platform's debugger (LinkedIn Post Inspector, X Card Validator, Facebook Sharing Debugger) to clear the cache.

How long can the title and description be?

Titles are typically cut around 60 characters and descriptions around 155–160, though each platform differs. The character counters here flag when you cross the safe line so nothing important gets clipped.
