What good meta tags get you
Meta tags are the difference between a link that gets clicked and one that scrolls by. Title and description drive search CTR. Open Graph and Twitter card tags decide whether your post on LinkedIn, X, or Slack renders as a rich preview with an image or a sad text-only fallback that gets ignored.
Checklist before you publish
Unique title and description per page.
Canonical URL set to the absolute final URL.
OG image 1200x630, <1MB, with text readable at thumbnail size.
Twitter site handle filled in so attribution shows up.
Validate with LinkedIn Post Inspector and X Card Validator after deploy.
Want this on autopilot
PostWyse generates per-page meta tags and OG images automatically for every post, so you stop hand-rolling them.
Title tag, meta description, canonical link, full Open Graph block (og:type, og:title, og:description, og:url, og:image with dimensions), and the Twitter card block (summary_large_image, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image, twitter:site).
What's the ideal title and description length?+
Titles read best at 50 to 60 characters. Anything past 60 gets truncated in search results. Descriptions sit at 150 to 160. Hit the upper end so search engines don't write their own snippet.
How big should the OG image be?+
1200x630 pixels at a 1.91:1 aspect ratio. That's what LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Slack all render. Keep the file under 1MB so previews load fast and don't get skipped.
Do I need different tags per page?+
Yes. Each page should have its own title, description, canonical URL, and ideally its own OG image. Generic site-wide tags lose ranking and CTR to pages that personalize.
