What this integration does

Use cases

Product descriptions that match the catalog, at scale

Drop 200 new SKUs into Shopify and PostWyse drafts a description and SEO metadata for each from the real attributes (material, fit, dimensions). You review in batches and approve; approved copy publishes back to Shopify. No more blank product pages.

Win-back plays on actual purchase history

Wyse spots customers who bought a consumable 60 days ago and haven't reordered, then drafts a replenishment email referencing their exact product. The win-back is grounded in order data, not a generic blast.

Lifecycle content segmented by what they bought

PostWyse drafts a post-purchase series that differs for a first-time skincare buyer versus a repeat supplement subscriber, because it reads the order history. Content matches the customer's real relationship with the store.

Merchandising-led content calendar

PostWyse surfaces this week's best sellers, slow movers, and frequently-bought-together pairs, then briefs the content calendar against them: a bundle landing page here, a clearance email there. Content follows the numbers.

Setup, step by step

  1. 01

Install the Wysera app on your Shopify store

From PostWyse, go to Settings, Integrations, Shopify, and click Install. You're redirected to your Shopify admin to approve the app. Requested Admin API scopes: read_products, write_products, read_orders, read_customers, read_content.

  2. 02

Run the initial catalog and order sync

After install, PostWyse pulls your catalog, collections, and a window of historical orders and customers. First sync takes 5 to 30 minutes depending on store size. Inventory and catalog stay current via Shopify webhooks afterward.

  3. 03

Set your brand voice and content rules

Configure the PostWyse voice profile and any content rules (banned claims, required compliance language, tone). These govern every product description and lifecycle email Wyse drafts so output is on-brand and safe to publish.

  4. 04

    Map segments and lifecycle triggers

Define the customer segments and order-based triggers you care about (post-purchase, replenishment window, lapsed buyer). Map each to the content type Wyse should draft. Sensible defaults ship for common DTC patterns.

  5. 05

    Approve writes before they publish

Keep publish-to-Shopify in approval mode so every product-copy or metadata write waits for your confirm-before-execute sign-off. Review the first batch of drafts, approve what's good, and only then consider raising auto-approve thresholds for low-risk fields.

Data flow

PostWyse connects through the Shopify Admin API via an installed app, using webhooks for ongoing catalog, inventory, and order updates. Catalog, order, and customer data is stored in your PostWyse tenant, encrypted at rest, and never trains public models. Any write back to Shopify (product copy, metadata, collection content) passes through Wyse's confirm-before-execute approval, and every sync, draft, and publish is recorded in the Wysera audit log with the Shopify resource ID. Customer PII is used for segmentation and logged content lives in OpsWyse where relevant.

  • Shopify Admin API enforces a leaky-bucket rate limit (REST) and cost-based limit (GraphQL); very large catalogs sync in throttled batches.
  • Historical order sync covers 12 months by default; longer windows are available on Pro Bundle.
  • Write-back targets product descriptions, SEO metadata, and collection content; theme and checkout edits are out of scope.

Questions

Will Wyse change my product pages without approval?

No. Every write to Shopify, including product descriptions and metadata, passes through Wyse's confirm-before-execute approval. Keep approval mode on and nothing publishes until you sign off on it.

Which Shopify plans does this work with?

Any plan with Admin API access, which includes Basic and up. Shopify Plus stores get the same integration plus higher API rate limits, which helps very large catalogs sync faster.

Does PostWyse send marketing emails through Shopify?

PostWyse drafts the lifecycle content and segments; sending happens through your email platform (Klaviyo, Shopify Email, or another ESP) via your existing connection. We generate the content grounded in Shopify data rather than replacing your sending tool.

Is my customer order data sent to AI models?

Order and customer data is processed inside your PostWyse tenant and never trains public models. PII used for segmentation can be redacted at the field level so flagged fields stay out of agent processing.

What happens to published content if I disconnect?

Everything Wyse published to Shopify stays in your store exactly as it is. Uninstalling the app revokes API access so PostWyse can no longer read or write. Your catalog and content are untouched.
